Publication Ethics
Publication Ethics
Mukhtasab: Journal of Economics and Islamic Business adheres to the ethical standards of scholarly publishing based on the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The journal is committed to maintaining integrity, transparency, and accountability in all aspects of the publication process. The following ethical principles apply to authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers involved in the publication of articles in this journal.
1. Duties of Authors
Authors must ensure that their manuscripts are original, not previously published, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. All sources used in the research must be properly cited. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of their data, the objectivity of analysis, and the ethical conduct of their research, especially when involving human participants or sensitive data. Plagiarism, data fabrication, and duplicate submission are strictly prohibited. All authors must have made a significant contribution to the work and approve the final version before submission.
2. Duties of Editors
Editors are responsible for making publication decisions based solely on the academic merit, originality, and relevance of the manuscript, without discrimination based on race, gender, religious belief, or institutional affiliation. Editors must maintain confidentiality regarding submitted manuscripts and ensure a fair and unbiased peer-review process. Editors should take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct has occurred.
3. Duties of Reviewers
Reviewers play a crucial role in the peer-review process by providing objective, constructive, and timely feedback to improve the quality of manuscripts. Reviewers must maintain confidentiality of the materials they review and should not use the information for personal advantage. They must disclose any conflict of interest that might influence their review and decline to review if necessary.
4. Duties of the Publisher
The publisher of Mukhtasab, Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (LPPM) An-Nur, ensures that all parties involved in the publication process adhere to the highest standards of ethical behavior. The publisher works closely with editors to maintain academic integrity, correct errors, and handle claims of misconduct transparently and fairly.
5. Handling of Publication Misconduct
If any unethical behavior or misconduct is detected such as plagiarism, falsification of data, or manipulation of the review process the journal will take appropriate actions following COPE’s procedures. This may include retraction, correction, or other measures deemed necessary to preserve the integrity of the scientific record.
By submitting a manuscript to Mukhtasab, authors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with the journal’s publication ethics policy.
