Publication Process

JALALAIN: Journal of Qur’an and Hadith Studies is dedicated to maintaining a transparent, fair, and rigorous publication process to ensure the academic quality and ethical integrity of every published work. The journal welcomes submissions from scholars, researchers, and students whose studies align with the Qur’an and Hadith fields.

1. Submission

Authors are required to register and submit their manuscripts via the online submission system of JALALAIN. Before submission, authors should carefully follow the Author Guidelines to ensure that the manuscript meets the journal’s formatting and citation requirements.

2. Initial Evaluation

Upon submission, the editorial team conducts an initial screening to evaluate the manuscript’s conformity with the journal’s focus and scope, its originality, and its adherence to publication ethics. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to authors for improvement or declined at this stage.

3. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts passing the initial evaluation will undergo a double-blind peer review by at least two qualified reviewers in relevant disciplines. This process ensures impartiality and provides constructive feedback aimed at enhancing the scholarly quality of the paper.

4. Editorial Decision

Based on reviewers’ evaluations, the Editor-in-Chief will decide one of the following outcomes: Accepted, Accepted with Minor Revisions, Major Revisions Required, or Rejected. The final editorial decision is communicated to the authors together with the reviewers’ comments and recommendations.

5. Revision and Resubmission

Authors requested to make revisions must address all comments carefully and resubmit the revised manuscript within the specified timeframe. A detailed response to reviewers’ feedback should accompany the resubmission. When necessary, the revised version may undergo an additional round of review.

6. Final Acceptance

After the reviewers and editors confirm that all revisions have been properly addressed, the manuscript will be formally accepted for publication. The paper then moves to the production phase, which includes copyediting, layout, and typesetting.

7. Proofreading

Authors will receive a final proof of their article before publication. This stage allows authors to verify accuracy and correct any typographical or minor formatting errors. Substantive changes at this stage are generally not permitted.

8. Online Publication

Once finalized, the article is published in the current issue of JALALAIN and made available online under an open-access policy. Each published article is assigned a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier) to ensure easy citation and long-term access.

9. Indexing and Archiving

All published articles are indexed and archived in reputable databases and digital repositories to ensure visibility, accessibility, and long-term preservation of scholarly work.

Through this structured and ethical publication process, JALALAIN upholds its commitment to academic excellence, transparency, and the advancement of Qur’an and Hadith scholarship.
